About me   Stuart Carter
Born in Swindon in 1972. I'm so old that there have been people on the frickin' moon in my lifetime.
I've been happily married to the Lovely Melanie in Novemeber 2000,
after proposing to her in Plymouth during the 1999 total eclipse.
I've lived in London since 1994, moving here as soon as I finished getting a BA in English and Philosophy at university in Wolverhampton.I love reading original, written science fiction, comics and interesting books, fiction and non-fiction.  Despite my age, I'm also a fan of new music.
I also have a Masters degree in Literary Criticism, gained from the University of Greenwich.  I nearly starved while studying for that.I live in the south east of London, and work in the West End for Yahoo!
In 2005 I was one of the judges for the Arthur C. Clarke Award for the best new science fiction novel.  The prize was £2,005.I've been writing book and other reviews since 1999; some of my stories have actually been published.  For money (from them to me).
Atheist.  Rationalist.  Believer in the twin powers of science and reason from a very young age.I don't understand: greed, jazz, bigots, selfishness, vegans, rudeness, mushrooms, small-mindedness or real ale.
I've worked as a research secretary, teacher, transcriber, business adviser, Green Party campaigner and nightclub organiser.I spend far too much time 'messing about' with computers - trying to learn how they work without at the same time picking up any terribly useful skills.
My typing speed was once clocked at over 100 words per minute. Despite this, I still can't actually touch type.Favourite... FILM: Brazil
ALBUM: The Comforts Of Madness - The Pale Saints
I was one of the very first people in the UK to own an mp3 player.
I've never owned an iPod.
I'm a diabetic (type 1), very short-sighted, balding and slightly overweight.
But I have great sideburns.
